About the Author
Vicky Jones was formerly the wine and food editor of ‘House & Garden’ magazine and travelled extensively collecting recipes and cooking techniques, as well as absorbing the food culture of many different countries. She has written a number of articles in national newspapers and wrote ‘Dordogne Gastronomique’ for Octopus Publishing in 1994. This is Vicky’s first book for RPS.

Recipes are easy to follow but are at the same time complex

This book covers the whole range of world wide recipes for legumes. Recipes are easy to follow but are at the same time complex. I would say that they are not for the beginning cook. Good for carnivores and vegetarians.

I like that she choses recipes from many different cultures

I found this book at the library. I made the refried beans, Mrs. Harwood's cheese/lentil dish and the bean pancakes (street food section). They were delicious! I like that she choses recipes from many different cultures, so I didn't have to buy an Indian cookbook, an Asian cookbook or a Mexican cookbook, etc. A previous reviewer complained about the number of indredients in each recipe, and neither previous reviewer seemed to actually cook any of the recipes! I never trust reviewers who do that.
I've added this book to my wish list so I can continue having fun with the rest of the recipes.
