An interesting book to understand roots of commonly used Indian spices

In book SpiceStory, authors Hugh and Colleen Gantzer identified twenty commonly used Indian spices. These are namely pepper, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, garlic, ginger, turmeric, chilies, mustard, nutmeg and mace, cumin, coriander, fennel, fenugreek, poppy seeds or khus-khus, saffron, vanilla and mint. This book is produced and promoted by Spices Board India, which makes it an authentic book on history of Indian spices. Authors also explore socio-cultural-medicinal values associated with each of these spices. This book contains a foreword written by Dr. M.S. Swaminathan, a world renowned agricultural scientist. This makes it an interesting book to understand roots of commonly used Indian spices.
