About the Author
Tom Stevenson is a British author who has been writing about wine for more than 30 years. He has won 33 literary awards, including Wine Writer of the Year three times and The Wine Literary Award, America’s only lifetime achievement award for wine writers, and in 2011 he was inducted into the New York Wine Media Guild’s Hall of Fame. Stevenson has written 26 books, the most important of which have been published internationally by more than 50 publishers and translated into over 25 languages. His standard reference work Sotheby’s Wine Encyclopedia is required reading for both MW and MS examinations and has sold in excess of 700,000 copies worldwide, while his ground-breaking Christie’s World Encyclopedia of Champagne & Sparkling Wine has been completely revised, expanded and updated by Essi Avellan MW (Absolute Press, 2013). An Indispensable Guide to Sparkling Wine

Just picked up Tom Stevenson's latest book on Champagne, the Champagne & Sparkling Wine Guide for 2015. The author's outdone himself. This is indispensable stuff for those of us who love sparkling wine...his scholarship in this area is without peer. If you get really geeky about champagne, his information on yeasts, on jetting, and of the impossibility of Maillard reactions occurring to add complexity to zero dosage champagnes is easily worth the price of the book. If you're not an expert but are just hoping for a thoughtful, accessible introductory book on sparkling wine, you'll find that, too, along with careful, well-considered tasting notes on many of the sparkling wines you'd be likely to encounter in restaurants and retail stores. So drop what you're doing, and spend the six dollars on the Kindle version right now. I think you'll find pretty quickly that you want the hardback on your wine book shelves, too. This is a superb effort by a gifted writer and scholar.
