Deliciously healthy

Author/chef/health guide Kevin Kerr lives a holistic vegan lifestyle. In his several books he addresses the healthy mind, spirit, life and nutrition. As he states, ' My e-books all encourage people to reconnect with nature because the earth provides for us everything that we need thrive.'
This book is geared to both Vegan curious and Vegan devotees. He offers his concept on how to embrace the Vegan lifestyle - not just the Vegan diet, emphasizing the health aspects of his work. He offers sixty Vegan recipes and provides in depth coverage of tow source in particular - chaga (medicinal mushroom) and chocolate, relating some information new to most of us as to the benefits of both of these food sources.
Kevin states, `Finding your balance of raw herbs, fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds is the most beneficial accomplishment for optimal physical health for many reasons. The evidence is clear that humans were meant to be herbivores due to our long digestive tracts, shape of our teeth, and pH of our stomach acid. The more plants there are the more oxygen is in the air; which in turn furthers not only our lifespans, but the existence of human beings. We can create an improved abundant world for everyone one tree at a time.' Then after his chapters on chaga (wild harvested preferred) and cacao (chocolate) he presents recipes (very easy to follow and obtain fine results!) for foods in each of these categories - Chaga, Cacao (Chocolate), Smoothies, Juices, Sweets, Dressings, Salads, & Wraps, and Raw Cuisine.
Kevin writes well, provides in depth information instead of just a recipe book, and then polishes off his book with outstanding (and very easy) recipes - all Vegan! This is a very fine collection. Grady Harp, September 14

yummy vegan treats

I'm not vegan/vegetarian but I like to incorporate vegan/veg meals in my diet. I've tried a few of the recipes in this book esp the smoothies and they were awesome, can't wait to try more.

Little Book With Terrific information

With so many people thinking about or already eating vegan, I've started reading more about what was involved. When I read Kerr's little book, I was really pleased that the recipes didn't seem difficult at all. I already have a juicer in the house, so it will be easy for me to try out some of the recipes.
Our neighbor has been battling a rare cancer for several years, and her husband told us yesterday that he had been combing the Internet for something else to help her. When I read about the many benefits of Chaga, I was so pleased to find something that he might not have already found.
The recipes cover a wide range of foods including, juicer recipes, sweets, dressings, salads and wraps. The book also has some interesting facts about food that I didn't know. For example, did you know that the more bitter a food is, the more beneficial to your health? There is even a vegan recipe for a skin rejuvenator. I'll bet you can buy the ingredients for much less than you could buy a fancy jar of rejuvenating cream at your local department store.
Great book and highly recommended!
